Client Testamonial

An 8 year old boy whose family received help from Stepping Stones wrote the following letter:

"Dear Stepping Stones, Thank you so much for helping my family. My Mom and Dad are so much happier knowing they can keep our power on and that I can go to bed knowing our house will be warm when I wake up in the morning."

Stepping Stones is a non-profit organization that is committed to helping Windsor residents who are experiencing financial insecurity. Our mission is to assist people within our community who are facing eviction or the possibility of having their utilities discontinued.

Imagine:

  • A single, retired woman is suddenly supporting her daughter and grandkids. Faced with an increase in expenses, she cannot pay her utility payment.
  • A single father supports himself and children through his construction business. However, when two of his customers do not pay on time, he cannot pay his own rent and faces eviction.
  • To support his family, a young father was traveling to Fort Collins for work. When their car needed repairs, he missed work for a few days. The lack of income due to lost work time and the extra car expenses lead to him and his wife being unable to pay their utility payment.

Stepping Stones clients are our neighbors. They go to our churches. Their kids go to our schools. They range in age from young adults to retired. Some have a college education or are going to school. They can be families or single adults. Some clients have moved here from other places, but many have lived in our community all of their life.
